In a fiery juxtaposition of wood and metal,  artist Hilla Shamia pours molten aluminum around pieces of raw wood. The aluminum fill the negative spaces, tightly binding the two together while charring the edge of the wood.  The simple forms of the furniture only enhance the dramatic appeal.
